The Secrets of the Magic Castle Officially Launches February 17
Tomorrow…the castle doors open.
And I can hardly believe I get to say that.
The Secrets of the Magic Castle officially joins the Your Turn to Choose universe on February 17, and this story has been such a special one to create.
If you loved stepping into adventure with The Hidden Treasure Map, get ready… because this time, the path leads to a mysterious castle filled with hidden doors, puzzling choices, magical twists, and yes… a playful “whoops” ending.
But here’s the secret behind the magic:
It’s about letting kids make choices.
It’s about discovering that mistakes aren’t failures, they are just part of the adventure.
What Makes This Story Different?
Like every book in the Your Turn to Choose series, this one is interactive. Readers decide what happens next.
Do you take the spiral staircase…
Or head towards the tunnel?
Each decision leads to a new path, and sometimes, a surprising outcome.
And if you land on a “whoops” ending?
That’s where the real magic lives.
Because kids get to turn back, try again, and realize something powerful:
They are allowed to make mistakes.
They are allowed to explore.
They are allowed to choose.
Crafted with Intention
Every path inside this castle was carefully built. Not just to entertain, but to empower.
I wanted the story to :
- Spark imagination
- Encourage problem-solving
- Reinforce resilience
- Make reading feel like play
And most of all, I wanted children to feel like the hero.
Why This One Feels Personal
There’s something symbolic about a castle.
It represents possibility. Mystery. Hidden strength.
Writing this book reminded me that sometimes we stand outside our own “castle doors”, unsure if we’re ready to enter.
But growth doesn’t happen in comfort.
It happens when we open the door.
Tomorrow, I get to open one more door in my own story – releasing my second book into the world.
A Story That Flows Like Magic
One of the biggest changes in this book is how it reads.
After releasing my first book, I paid close attention to how children responded, and how parents experienced reading it aloud.
This time, I intentionally reshaped the story to flow with more rhythm and rhyme.
Instead of longer narrative sentences, the pages now feel lighter. Easier to read aloud at bedtime.
The rhyming structure helps:
- Keep young listeners engaged
- Make the story more memorable
- Create a nature read-aloud rhythm
- Encourage early reading confidence
I think interactive books should feel playful, not overwhelming.
Every line was refined to make sure the adventure moves smoothly while still keeping all the magical branching paths intact.
And that feels magical.
Launch Day Is Tomorrow!
If you’ve been waiting, tomorrow is your moment.
The castle doors open February 17.
Adventure is inside.
Choices are waiting.
Magic is ready.
And as always…
It’s your turn to choose.
